Did you ever consider... by sharlean
Did you ever consider that when you close your eyes and unpin the hinges of your mind that the dream scenes seen like reflections on the surface of a softly rippling pond might be a mirror on your truer self that your unseen self might ripple and shine like the surface of that pond might be liquid and reflective might have an ecosystem of life beneath the surface or be connected like the million root branches and fine root hairs of a great swamp tree which spreads out into the sweet water into the feast of earth and reaches reaches its magnificent self for the blue sky freshness of an autumn afternoon? I slip in and out of this dreaming. Now solid, now ripple pond. Now compact, now spreading tree. When you look at your own reflection and see fragments of life dancing like fireflies all around your head-- or knowledge of life, of love, of the mystery of being in a snowsquall of confetti whose occasional atom catches the light revealing its shape and a fleeting glimpse of its location and relationship, when you are that being it confirms me, permits me and this vital dreaming becomes real. Perhaps we solid beings can do this for one another, there being no more precious gift. 2/96 Julie Masters
